OB Sabah rocks!!!
time flies, its been 14 days since i've returned frm OB Sabah. hm.. suddenly, i feel tat humans contradict & fickle alot..i've been missing the days i spent in Sabah, the people i mingled with & the lifestyles there, which are actually of contrast to the feeling i had before the trip. initially, i was so reluctant, no mood, nt enthus nor excited or looking forward 2 it. first few days, during the course, i oso often questioned myself "wad the hell i m doing here, gettin out of my comfort zone & "suffering"?" .. “y don’t I stay in singapore to train for the upcoming competition?”..
bt as days passed, i grew fonder for the course and mingled with some of my group members though conflicts and differences do occurred especially when a group was full of potential leaders, experienced campers and trekkers.OB Sabah, its fun, great, excellent though tiring. its a lifetime experience for me, its sumtinz tat i'll nt be able to experience in s'pore, a country which is so advance in technologies & standard of living is so high, if i choose nt to go. Its a trip which reali brought me or rather all of us who went out of our comfort zone.
The 6 to 7 days of jungle trekking allowed me to learn alot, be it physically, emotionally or mentally. i learnt life skills like hw to pitch tents and starts fire in a remote area in the jungle. i also got the chance in encounterin with different kind of insects & sights the breath taking sceneries of sunset etc. however, the most memorable moments were the togetherness & team works of each & every gp members as we went through river crossing, padi weeding/farming, river bathing etc etc. these are things tat i haf nv experienced.
in addition, the villages stay and culturals exchange with the kampong villagers were great. we got the chance to understd more abt their lifestyles and cultures, their daily routines and all. its our fortunate 2 as we were able to get a chance to attend a wedding ceremony at one of the village where we learnt a different kind of tradition culture of kampong wedding ceremony. al in al, the villagers are living a relazin and slow pace life.
as 4 the mount kinabalu climbed, i understd fully the phrase "one will show his/her true self during critical moments". i feel true friendship, the care & concern frm sum of my gp members. the helps & motivations they gave me and sum of my gp members during our climb up the mountain in the early morning- 1am. the finale of all was the reached to the summit of the mountain when all of us were elated, cumin 2gether 4 photo sessions & Njoying another breath taking view of the sunrise.the night
when i first came HM, i was like erhm.. bit of retarded to technologies.. haha.. tink i m exaggerating? hm.. well.. NO. i m nt... =p i feel tat we're reali living in a real hectic city.. shd try to slow dwn.. tke things easy & live life to the fullest.. =)
i miss life in Sabah & sum of my gp mates, they noe who they are.. haha... aniwae, OHANA CHAIN RULES!!! yeahz!!! ;p
*OB Sabah rocks, same 2 OHANA CHAIN!!! =)*
